Google's free AdWords keyword selector tool helps businesses find high-traffic keyword variations, synonyms, and seasonal trends that dramatically improve SEO and PPC return on investment.
the three most important things when you're doing search engine optimization or pay-per-click are... Keywords, keywords, and keywords.
We cover Google's Keyword selector tool. There are many things to look at regarding this tool. We explain how you can use this tool to identify keywords that will be easy to get on the first page. We discuss all the ins and outs to turning your efforts using this tool into cash.
It is Google's AdWords keyword tool, accessible by typing 'Google keyword usage' into Google search. It is free, and was originally designed to support PPC advertisers. You can enter descriptive words or phrases, or paste in a website URL, and it returns related keyword ideas with monthly search volume data.
By entering a broad term like 'find a plumber,' the tool surfaces synonyms such as plumbing contractor, mechanical contractor, and HVAC contractor. It also shows search volumes so a local business can prioritize high-value regional terms like 'toilet repair Houston' rather than broad national phrases.
The tool shows traffic per month for the last 12 months for each keyword. For example, searching 'Roofers Houston' revealed a large spike in September and October after a hurricane, showing that campaigns should be adjusted by season or after local events.
According to the hosts, a typical regional plumber should not chase broad terms like 'find a plumber' because the roughly 2,900 monthly searches come from across the country, meaning most visitors are outside the plumber's service area and the effort produces poor return on investment.
you may have a business and the first and most obvious keyword is the one you go after. And then you realize a slight adjustment to that keyword gets you, you know, ten times more traffic.
