CIVO stands for search engine visitor optimization. The hosts coined the term to describe building and optimizing a website for the human visitor, not just search engines. They argue it begins at the SERP, meaning even your search result listing should help users take action before they ever click.
According to the hosts, the area above the fold should include your logo, business name, contact information such as a phone number or email, your target keywords, and at least one call to action. Flash banners that consume the entire fold area without these elements waste prime real estate.
Breadcrumbs are navigation links, usually at the top of a page, that show a user the hierarchy of pages they have traveled through on a site. The hosts recommend using them when a site has many subcategories, so users can easily move back up to a parent category without getting lost.
The hosts say displaying those logos breeds familiarity and signals reliability and credibility. Even if the accounts are not heavily used, visitors see those logos and conclude the business is serious enough to maintain a presence on major social platforms, which builds immediate trust.
getting people to your website is not a problem. Some of the first things we talk about, I mean, you know, we get phone calls all the time. it's like, I want to be on the first page of Google. We look at their website and we say, no, you do not. Not yet.
