search is still your primary online marketing tool
This is our 2011 SEO Halloween episode. We discuss title tags and alt tags and how they effect SEO. We also discuss Digg and Reddit and the benifits of those website to the SEO efforts you have on your own site. We always talk about inbound links and this is one great way to get those inbound links. The most popular Internet Marketing Podcast on iTunes. E-Webstyle provides PPC Houston.
According to this episode, Facebook walls do not pass link juice and do not affect your page rank. The value of social media is generating traffic and giving people multiple ways to find you, not improving your search rankings directly.
The episode recommends writing full blog posts on your own site for SEO value, then posting a shorter synopsis on Facebook with a link back to the blog. Facebook has higher page rank inherently and may appear in search results, but it will not pass link juice to your site.
The episode says offering files like EXE downloads does not pose an SEO risk on its own. The only concern would be distributing corrupt or malicious files, which is a content quality issue rather than a file-type penalty from search engines.
