The eight signals are link score, anchor text relevance, keyword usage, content length, content comprehensiveness, page speed, mobile friendliness, and click-through rate. They fall into four categories: backlinks, content, technical SEO, and user experience, as outlined in an article from Search Engine Land posted by SEO Power Suite.
Target high-quality, low-hanging-fruit links from manufacturers, distributors, and partners in your industry. For example, if you sell a branded product, get listed with a full profile and a link on that brand's website. Avoid spammy links, which hurt your link score.
Using only your exact target key phrase as anchor text can trigger an algorithm penalty. You need a mix of anchor text types, such as the domain name, click here, the company name, and longer phrases, so Google does not flag over-optimization of a single match.
Google expects pages to load in two seconds or less and has officially confirmed speed is a ranking signal. The hosts recommend using Pingdom to see how long each individual component of your page takes to load, and suggest taking Google PageSpeed Insights results with a grain of salt.
