Google released over 65 algorithm changes in two months, and businesses with multiple locations should use Google Local Plus pages with unique addresses and phone numbers to avoid duplicate content issues.
What you have to make sure you do is that each Google Local Plus page has a different address and a different phone number.
In this weeks podcast, we talk about the many changes that are affecting Google's Algorithm system and how that may or may not effect your webpage. Moving on, we discuss the negative effects of having multiple google+ pages with the same address, and finally, we conclude by talking about how to optimize pages for the google+ system.
Set up a Google Local Plus page for each location with a unique address and phone number. Google uses those signals to identify separate locations, so pages in different cities do not compete against each other, and duplicate content penalties are not a real concern in that context.
Google made changes to improve web ranking for location-based queries, refreshed Panda for high-quality sites, improved site link title relevance signals, and updated image search to reduce adult images and identify new photos more accurately, all within August and September.
Ask what the page is about and what its purpose is, whether to educate, inform, or convert. Also consider content timing, how long the content stays relevant, which keywords to include, what links and media to add, and whether a one-size-fits-all optimization approach fits that specific audience.
Google actually released over 65 algorithm changes over the past two months, August and September.
