Questions this episode answers

Why is the Google Keyword Tool showing fewer keyword results now?

Google intentionally reduced the keyword data returned by its Keyword Selector tool, limiting results to keywords it considers commercially viable for AdWords. Long-tail and mid-tail keywords without demonstrated commercial characteristics are no longer shown, meaning marketers lose access to much of the broader search inventory.

What happens to my Yahoo PPC ads after the Yahoo and Bing merger?

Yahoo search ads are moving to Microsoft Ad Center. Advertisers must create a Microsoft Ad Center account before the end of the month or their Yahoo ads will disappear. Once migrated, the ads will run on Bing instead of Yahoo.

What did Google add to Webmaster Tools for link data?

Google added a links section to Webmaster Tools showing which sites link most to your pages, what anchor text those links use, and which of your pages receive the most links. The hosts noted the data appeared incomplete compared to their known backlink counts.

In their words

Google clarified that the ubiquitous AdWords keyword tool now only provides keywords Google deems commercial. This represents a seismic shift, excuse me, a shift of seismic proportions to those who utilize the tool for demographic reasons in and outside of AdWords.

Host

if you were using Yahoo, PPC, search engine marketing, as it puts on their site, you need to go to Microsoft Ad Center and create your account there. By the end of this month, those accounts will merge.
