Questions this episode answers

How does Google filter restaurant search results on Android?

According to this episode, Google now filters Android restaurant search results based on price, cuisine type, number of reviews, and hours of operation. If a restaurant is closed, it will not appear in results, making accurate and updated listings critical for local businesses.

Why are Google Plus Local reviews important for SEO?

The hosts state that G Plus Local reviews are valuable for local SEO. They encourage listeners to visit their G Plus Local page, add the business to a circle, give a plus one, and leave a review, treating it as a meaningful ranking and reputation signal.

What should local restaurant websites include to rank better in mobile search?

The episode advises local restaurants to post easily accessible hours of operation, a menu with cuisine descriptions, and pricing. Doing so helps the business appear in Google's filtered Android search results and attracts customers who already understand what to expect.

What is the branding tip from episode 233 of the SEO podcast?

The tip carried over from episode 233 is to maintain consistent branding across all platforms. This means keeping the same logo, color scheme, and communication language everywhere, similar to how major brands like McDonald's and Nike maintain uniform visual identity.

In their words

Make sure your sites are updated, that you have easily accessible hours of operation, that you have your menu posted with the description of the type of cuisine you offer.

Hi, and welcome to the SEO Podcast, Unknown Secrets of Internet Marketing. My name is Chris Burris, owner of E-WOPStyle. WOPStyle. I'm Charles Lewis, an internet marketing specialist. Yes, we will be changing our name soon. We're going to add a couple of consonants in random places, and we're just trying to see what's... Change our all E's to O's. What's going to sound right? Ooh, Webster. All right. As always, there is... By the way, this is podcast number 234. Yes. Check that out on the screen behind us. If you're watching our podcast, great. If you're not watching our podcast, then, you know... No, go watch it. Watch our podcast. Trying to get our viewers up. You know, our listeners are great. Yeah. We've got thousands of listeners, you know, 8,000 different downloads and all over the world. When we get our watches up, our viewers up. Yep. So, yeah, y'all guys tune in and watch. As always, we have a tip from our previous podcast that was 233. That tip is, have consistent branding across all platforms. Yeah. You want to make sure that your branding is consistent. For example, you don't see McDonald's with variations of their logos. You don't see Nike with various sizes of the Nike check. Although, maybe in different sizes, they're all scaled the same. And so, take that same consistency and that same importance with your own branding. Whether it's your color scheme, whether it's your logo, whether it's even down to the language you speak and use when communicating with clients. Keep it consistent. Yeah. Like I said before, if it's urban, then speak that language. If you're more third person, then use that language. Right. But you can't be all over the place because it's just not good. Yep. It's not a good look. Similar to our mantra, by the way, we are your friendly local neighborhood top position snatchers. Yes. By the way, your fist pump wasn't in the screen. It was in the screen. Yeah, yeah. Okay, I'll feed it. Top position snatchers. There we go. There

we go. Where our mantra is. Don't be a douche. Do not be a douche. It is not a good look. If you're in a position right now, we have a hashtag and two at symbols right behind us. That's what we would like you to tweet. Hashtag SEO podcast. Be sure to tag us in an at best SEO podcast. At eWebStyle. That way we can follow you back and do all of our social stuff. Is that the ad? That's almost like an ad symbol, right? You know, that's how we roll in my area. So, yeah. Go ahead and tweet. If you enjoy our podcast. If you get good information from our podcast. You can do a couple of things for us. There's actually four of them now. I added one today. So, don't worry. It won't take too long. The first one has three steps. Go on to iTunes, create an account, and write a review. If you choose to send us an email, you can send that email podcast at e-webstyle.com. The next thing you can do is go on to Facebook. Our Facebook page is facebook.com slash eWebStyle. And go there. You'll find the little area where you can write reviews. We're hoping that you will give us a five-star review. I caught you drinking. Look at that. And then next, our G Plus Local page. As you guys and gals, as fellow internet marketing gurus. The internets. The internets working in the webs. No. G Plus Local reviews are valuable. If you didn't know that, now you do. Go to our G Plus Local page and write a review for us. If you could, we've made it incredibly easy to get to our G Plus Local page. Yes. You just go to e-webstyle.com slash Google Plus and slash Google Plus and slash G Plus and slash G Plus. Either one of those will take you to our Google Plus page. When you get there, do a few things. Right? Put us in a circle. Give us a plus one and leave us a

review, please. Yes. Thank you so much. And also plus one that page. Yes. Because right now we have more reviews than people who have plus one our G Plus Local page. Yeah. It's like one more click. Click. Like, just do that. It's right there. Right there in the middle of that image. It's a plus one. It's almost hidden in the middle of that image right there. So, yeah, do that for us, please. Also, you can now add a review on comment. And we kind of need one because one of the people who is not too fond of our potatoes portion of our podcast has written a review on Stitcher. And one of the persons who is aware of all the great content that we give away has also written one. So, we now have about 50%. Yeah, about three stars, three and a half stars, two and a half stars, something like that. So, just go on to Stitcher. Oh, it's a one one-star review and one five-star review equals a three-star review. So, just do us the small favor. We've made it incredibly easy. Once again, all you need to do is go to e-webstyle.com slash Stitcher. Stitcher. And that'll take you right there. Shout out to all the Stitcher people, too. Yeah. We hope you guys weren't feeling neglected because we push iTunes and we push YouTube and you stream. But Stitcher's permanent. Stitcher's a great podcasting platform. Absolutely. And we get a lot of traffic there. So, punch in the face to you guys. Absolutely. We do have a referral program. You refer a customer to us and you're signed up on our program. They pay us. We pay you. Pretty simple. Free website analysis. If you go to our website, e-webstyle.com, and you can find our website analysis. There's nothing after that. Slash tree hyphen web hyphen analysis is probably it, actually. Yeah. And if it's not, what you're going to see is a picture of me and Chuck going, what? You got to the wrong spot. That's one of the

best 404 pages I've ever seen. Well done, Nick. And finally, we have our great segment, which is called the Algorithm Cataclysm. Yeah, that's an earthquake. I'm saying, if you're not watching it, you're really missing the Special E-Fix. So, what was interesting in the cat, so actually two things. Okay. Two things. And so, these, I call them Algorithm Cataclysm because they kind of. By the way, just so you know, I almost just announced it and then moved on. I'm glad you're here because I would have announced the cataclysm and gone right into an email. So, it was two things. One, and these both affect Android. Okay. Android users only. So, Google made a change in search for restaurants specifically. Okay. So, now on an Android, if you search for Show Me Restaurants, they'll show you restaurants in your area, right? GPS-based. Right. But, now they're filtering the results. They're showing you results based on price, on the cuisine. Okay. How many reviews they have, and their hours of operation. Pretty cool. So, if they're closed, no need to show you. That's all. Duh. That's like, wow. Yeah. And so, it's pretty cool. And so, you know, for our local restaurants, and we'll talk about local business today, this is key. Yeah. This is extremely important. So, make sure your sites are updated, that you have easily accessible hours of operation, that you have your menu posted with the description of the type of cuisine you offer. Make sure you have, you know, your prices listed. It's worth it at this point. Yep. And that way, that way, at the end of the day, you're going to get better people, I think, coming to your spot. Yeah. Because they kind of expect a higher price. If you have a higher price cuisine, they know what you offer, and, you know, you get to end up with a better customer. So, update your sites. You might get, like, fewer menu checkers. Exactly. Sit down, look at the menu, walk out. Thank you for the water. Yeah. That's cool.

And free water with free lemons and free sugar. Yes. I've got some lemonade. Mm-hmm. Mm, delicious. Get rid of those people. Oh, so the second one, the second one was the, so you can use the cards on your phone? Like, I use the Android cards all the time. Oh, not as much. Not that much, and, you know. I use them because they're great reminders. Like, I get a card that says, hey, Rockets, play off game six. Then it says, hey, you need to go to church. Or, hey, are you going to church today? It's going to take you 36 minutes to get there. Like, I use the cards all the time. So, they got a new card. Right. If you open up the cards, and let's say you're in a huge parking lot, you can tap it when you get out your car, and it will remember where you parked. Nice. And so, when you leave out the wrong side of the mall, for example, you're like, where the hell did I park at? Tap the card, and maps will open up and direct you to your vehicle. That's awesome. My wife needs that. My wife needs that. My wife needs that. I'm literally in it. She has the worst sense of direction. This is no joke. If I don't know what direction to go, I ask. Slightly raised up eyebrow high. Slightly raised up eyebrow high.
